![]() In fact, we could see the caveman from the walkway here. This is exactly across where the 45 North Trail marker was. Then there was another parking lot on our right – an overflow parking lot. We walked up the walkway, which was icy and slippery in spots, past a parking lot. He was up just past a bridge that went over the road, and on the left we’d see a marker that said 45 North Trail. The helpful attendant showed me this map and explained that if we don’t want to lose our parking spot, we could walk up the walkway (along Theodore Wirth Parkway) about 10-15 minutes to find the caveman. We parked near the chalet (the lot was super busy), and I asked someone there where it was (there were a few different trails). I had heard in several online groups that the frozen caveman was in Theodore Wirth Park, and you should park near the Chalet or Golf Course and walk north on the trail to find him. So after seeing some discussion about where it’s located, I took my kids and tracked him down! I was one of those people looking for details so I could take my kids and see it for ourselves.Īnd with the cold here in Minnesota, I didn’t want to be freezing my kids (or myself) outside hunting a long time for him. However, one of the fun things about this “find” in Minneapolis is the mystery – where is he? How do people find him? If you want to keep the mystery for yourself – STOP HERE! Otherwise… Want to know exactly where Zug Zug is?ĭespite the “fun” of looking for him, Zug Zug has gotten so much attention that people are now asking those who have found it for information. His name is “Zug Zug,” and he’s been getting a lot of press lately by both the media and locals, who share their selfies with the caveman on social media. Well, not a real one, of course – but a piece of art originally created by Leonic Art Collective as a prop for an awards ceremony. If you live in the Twin Cities and you haven’t heard on the news already, there’s a frozen caveman in Minneapolis! UPDATE: The Caveman is no longer there – it was removed by the artist who created it.
